Three of Coty’s prestige beauty brands – Gucci Beauty, Gucci Fragrances, Burberry Beauty and Chloé fragrances – have unveiled new boutique stores withing Block C at the CDFG Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex in Hainan.
Block C, which launched officially on 28 December, 2023, is making waves as a leading standalone retail destination dedicated solely to high-end beauty and fragrances.
Gucci Beauty’s new boutique in Block C spans nearly 100 sqm on the second floor of the building, making it the brand’s largest beauty flagship store in Hainan.
During the Chinese New Year holiday period, the store engaged the influx of visitors with a range of exciting activities and floral trolley activations.
Products available include Gucci Flora, The Alchemist’s Garden and Gucci makeup.
Adjacent to Gucci Beauty, shoppers can find the Burberry Beauty boutique, which offers a curated selection of best-selling items and signature prestige fragrance collections.
It’s the third Burberry beauty flagship store globally, providing visitors with a ‘highly immersive and luxurious’ shopping experience, says Coty.
Since the soft opening of the flagship store, the Burberry Goddess fragrance has seen a 40% year-on-year increase in sales*.
Chloé’s inaugural stand-alone beauty boutique in Hainan is situated within the fragrance section on the third floor of Block C, anchored by the theme of a French-style ‘Art of the Bouquet’ design concept.
During the Chinese New Year, the boutique unveiled a series of limited-edition gift sets.
The opening of the three boutiques is part of Coty’s overarching expansion strategy in Hainan’s burgeoning travel retail market.
Coty continues to strengthen its presence in the market through a variety of strategic initiatives, including new boutiques, engaging events and activations, as well as partnerships with key duty free retailers.
Alongside Gucci, Burberry and Chloé, other Coty prestige fragrance brands, such as Hugo Boss, Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, as well as premium skincare brand Lancaster, have also established boutiques within Block C.
Lancaster, located on the ground floor, offers its exclusive Cellular Youth Recovery Treatment to CDF VIPs through a branded spa room in Hainan’s first multi-brand spa centre.
Additionally, Hugo Boss’s fragrance boutique is the brand’s only brick-and-mortar store in the Chinese duty free retail channel, attracting a high number of influencers and key opinion leaders (KOLs) who are sharing their experiences via social media platforms.
Looking ahead, Coty’s prestige fragrance and skincare brands are set to introduce a host of exclusive offline activities at the Sanya shopping complex.
These include a Burberry Goddess campaign in March, to commemorate International Women’s Day, and a pop-up event in spring focused on the Gucci Bloom fragrance, with more initiatives to follow throughout the year.
